If you want to build a successful blog, there are three main things that can certainly help you get started. Although many people think that building a successful blog is one of the easiest tasks out there, they are wrong. A successful blog takes more than just setting up a blog page to chat about your life. You need to focus on these three building blocks in order to even have the framework for a successful blog. Even these three building blocks are not enough however to make your blog successful. Read on to learn exactly what you need to make your blog as successful as possible.

The Look

The first building block for a successful blog is The Look. What this means is that your blog should start with an appropriate style. You can begin when you first start your blog. Many blogging software programs will help you out with the style of your blog. If you are using a blogging program that caters most to beginners, you will see that it will offer different templates for you to choose. There will be something for everyone. You can go through the templates to choose which colors you like best for the layout. Experiment with the layouts to see which templates look best on the computer screen. You can always go back and change the template later if you want to change the look of your blog. Make sure that if you are creating your own blog, without using a pre-created template that you make it look as professional as possible. You can even hire a professional to do the job for you if you wish. The more professional your blog looks, the more seriously your readers will take your posts.

The Content

The content of your blog is the second key building block you will need for a successful blog. While you can choose to create posts that have no direction or purpose, you will find that when you post interesting commentary or short information filled articles that your traffic will increase. Although you may think it is interesting, most readers will not enjoy reading about your day to day activities, unless you make them into humorous stories.

It should also be noted that the more content you have on your site, the more successful your site will be. It is basically a numbers game at this point. The more you post, the more chances you will have the one of your posts will attract the eye of someone searching for a related topic.

The Ads

The third building block is advertising. Bloggers can make a steady income using advertising on their blogs. The trick is to have a good mixture of ads and content however. If you fill your blog with ads and have no content for readers, they will be distracted and not visit your site again. A good rule to remember is that you should never have more than two or three ads per blog page. This is an important rule to remember. You should not overwhelm you readers with ads. You should only present them so that the readers can further explore them if they wish. Don't use flashing ads or other bold ads that will annoy your readers. Choosing the right type of advertising program is part of it as well. Look into an easy to use program such as Google Adsense if you want a quick way to get started in the advertising arena.

The Dedication

The most important building block of a great blog is dedication. You must be willing to be dedicated to the blog. You have to put in the time and energy to get positive results. Even if you have the other three components, unless you take the time to update your posts each day, you will not be getting optimum results. Dedication can help a lot. It can hide the fact that you are a beginner and allow you to create a beautiful and functional blog. No matter how little experienced you are dedication can cover that up. You can have a great blog as long as you take the time to give some of your energy to the project.

Everybody would love to make lots of money quickly, working from home, and only doing a few hours of work per week. I've spent the past two years trying to find a great way of doing this. Only over the course of the past few months have I found any "get rich quick" programs worth buying. I've been trying to make money online for a long time. I had a few small websites, but they never made much more than a few hundred per month. It was easy money and didn't require much work on my part, but I knew there were people out there doing better than I was and I knew I could do as well as them.
Now, I've seen a lot of "get rich quick" programs. Most of these people make claims about earning $2000/day with Google or something similarly insane. Almost all of these people are complete liars. Even if they were making $2000/day with Google AdSense, it'd be because they had high- traffic websites with a lot of quality content. I'd know, because in one whole month, I never even made half of what they promised I'd make daily with their programs. Maybe you've already been scammed by one of these fraudsters. Anyway, I finally got sick of what was being offered.
I decided I'd look through the all of the "get rich quick" programs I could find and see if there were any that were actually legitimate. I found that there were owners selling their programs for well over $100, but the information in them could be found almost anywhere online for free. Additionally, they all contained out-of-date information, had no e-mail support, no money back guarantees, and broken links in the downloads section.
In conclusion, almost all of the programs I found were completely useless. The owners knew it, but they couldn't care less about their customers since they didn't offer refund policies! Amazingly, while looking through all of the programs, I actually did find a few legitimate programs. They were run by ordinary people like you and me, and they had found some great methods of making money from their home by doing very little work.
I spent some time working with those programs, and my income is now ten times what it used to be. These programs provided a large amount of great information on how to make extra money on your computer doing very little work. Numerous customers had provided great feedback and reviews for their products. Many of them have started to make money just days after buying!
Their programs have excellent prices, and the authors have a group of paid staff who are dedicating to helping you or providing assistance if you need any. I must say I was amazed! If you do decide to purchase any of the programs listed below, I recommend you join quickly. Most of the owners tell me they are getting an overwhelming number of sales and plan on raising prices in the near future, so order while prices are still low!

The wedding business is booming! Every year, almost 2.5 million couples tie the knot in the United States, spending an average of $20,000 a couple -- making it a $72 billion industry. Planning and organizing a wedding is still a major undertaking and many couples simply don't have the time to devote to it -- and are more than happy to leave the planning to a professional.

The demand for wedding planners is booming too -- an estimated 15% of couples now use the services of a professional wedding planner. Being a wedding planner allows you to be your own boss; it's a profession that most people consider to be fun and rewarding -- and there are no particular educational qualifications or requirements. Around 10,000 people in the United States claim to be professional wedding planners.

As a wedding planner, you are responsible for every aspect of the wedding -- flowers, photography, food and perhaps accommodation for out of town guests. You also have to enjoy dealing with people, as that is essentially what you will be doing much of the time, as a wedding planner. And perhaps one of the most important qualities is simply to be well organized and efficient -- you don't want to find that you forgot to book the caterers for the big day!

Starting a wedding business is not much different from any other business -- although start up costs tend to be minimal. You will need a small office to work from, or a quiet space in your home -- keep in mind your clients may meet with you there. You will need such basics as a separate phone line, fax machine and business cards and you may need to register your business in your county or state. Having your own web site is an essential too.

A portfolio is also an excellent thing to show potential clients. If you aren't sure where to start, offer your services to family and friends in exchange for being able to take and use photographs. Your portfolio should contain photographs of any weddings you have helped to plan -- anything from the flowers and the table settings to the catering and the choice of venue. Reference letters from some satisfied clients are always a nice finishing touch.

The best way to become experienced as a wedding planner is to learn all you can about weddings -- and what makes them successful. Attend weddings, talk to those people involved such as caterers, photographers and florists. Try to get as many contacts as you can -- you will need them later. It's also worth trying to negotiate discounts with some of your contacts. And if you want to go back to school -- you can take classes that teach you all about the profession.

So now you are a wedding planner -- but where do you find your clients? One of the most effective ways to find potential clients is through your network of contacts in the industry. Make sure your business cards are visible at caterers, florists and bridal shops. You may want to advertise in the local newspaper and display your business card at such places as libraries, community centers and workplaces. And as every small business owner knows -- word of mouth is often the most effective advertising.

And one of the best things about being a wedding planner? You have the satisfaction of helping to plan what many people consider to be the happiest day of their lives.

Your online business will likely require more advertising than a contemporary business downtown, yet some new to the world of online business do not spend the time and money to advertise their business
appropriately and are, in turn, loosing money. Your online business is crammed into the world wide web along with thousands of others selling the same product or service as yourself. Consider this scenario: In your hometown you want to open an art supply store. In that same town there are thousands of art supply stores. In order for your business to be successful, it will have to stand out in some way from the others. This is exactly what is happening when a business is opened online. There is so much competition, that you must take drastic measures to ensure that you are getting noticed. Advertising can be done in so many ways online. These are some of the most successful ways that you can promote your online business.

Advertising in e-zines is a popular way to promote your online business. Ezines are the magazines of the internet; they written on a particular subject and read by those interested in that subject. Therefore, ezine readers are already potential customers and advertising your site in ezines that are related to your business is almost guaranteed to help drive traffic to your site and increase sales for your product. You should be sure when advertising in ezines that you are not advertising along side
competitors. Ask the ezine producer if there is a policy concerning posting competing ads. It is also a good idea to subscribe to the ezine before making a decision about whether or not to advertise in it. An ezine that runs fewer ads is a better choice than one that runs many ads. You can look at the online Directory of Ezines to find publications that are relevant to your company.

Pay-per-click programs are an excellent way to advertise your business without taking a risk that you have advertised in the wrong place. With
pay-per-click, you can advertise you site and only pay for those who click the link and go to your site. Another popular pay-per program is the pay-per-lead program that allows you to only pay for leads. Usually this means that you pay for only those who download a trail, fill out a form or enter a sweepstakes; whatever you choose. Lastly you can display pay-per-click banner ads in which your company would be allowed to place a banner on their site and you will be charged for every click that your banner receives.

Opt-In email is a great way to advertise your business, however it is expensive and it can be misused very easily. Using opt-in emails, you would
submit your sales copy to the company that will in turn email it to those on their mailing list. You should be very careful since some of the companies that advertise their mailing lists as opt-in email service is sometimes really SPAM. It is essential that you have a perfect and effective sales letter when using opt-in mailing lists. Without and
effective sales copy your money and time have been wasted.

Get The Maximum From Your Squeeze Pages

Get The Maximum From Your Squeeze Pages

Word Count:
791

Summary:
The real sales lie in your list, we all know that by now but how well are you using your squeeze pages?

Keywords:
subscribers,email,squeeze page

Article Body:

Getting subscribers is definitely not finding sand in the Sahara. They can sometimes be as scarce as chicken teeth although there are as many as the sand in the Sahara.

So what are you doing to get your bucket full of sand?

There are millions of people surfing the net every day, all of the 24 hours of it. All you want is a little traffic to your site and to make some sales. Maybe, like many others you are promoting affiliate products and the sales are just dripping in.

If you are not using squeeze pages to get email addresses this will be the first and last time you will hear anything from the visitor you sent to the affiliate page.  So you decide to use squeeze pages in an effort to get more subscribers on your list. Every now and again you might see a new subscriber but it just won't catch that momentum that you have heard so many others achieve.  You fall back in your chair thinking, "Is this how it will always be or might there be a silver lining at the top of the cloud." Well there is a huge silver lining at the top of the cloud and if people are visiting your site, coming from PPC or generic traffic, and they were interested in what they found there is no reason why they should not subscribe if you ask them to.

Remember we get bucketfuls of junk mail every day which end up in the deleted items faster than they had arrived.

What would make your visitor believe you are any different?

Answer these questions:

Are you any different?

How do you stand out?

Is your squeeze page merely just a catch area or does it actually solve a problem the visitor might have?

Remember, solving the problem also means that he would need to buy a product to do so, which of course is the product you are promoting.

A real good review on how a product solves a specific problem, especially if you use it yourself, and a good and clear explanation of how it works will make you to be an expert user of the product. Now that your visitor sees you as a perceived expert, which you should be, means that you will also have information that he would like to have or learn from. Here is where you make your definitive offer to the visitor to actually give you his details so you can follow-up with him.

Give him related information or tutorials on how to achieve his goals in exchange for his email address. Then send useful information which he will be able to use with and without the product.

If the product is an information book get the main points and divulge a little of them but just enough not to give to much away, but enough to raise the curiosity level to where he would be burning to know more.

This can be done in different ways very successfully without too much work, just by some clever writing. In your follow up emails you need to explain different methods and promote the product subtly. Do not bang it in the visitors face all the time. Use tact and persuasion, remember if he had not made the purchase by now but has opted in, it means there is interest but he is not sure yet.

If you're going to tell him at the beginning of every mail to buy the product and become instantly filthy rich you are not going to make the sale. You need to remind not bombard.

Build up a trust relationship with the subscriber and follow it up every few days or whatever the subscription says with good solid information and at the end of each email show how the product has helped you come to that specific answer.

In the long run over seven to ten emails you would have imparted quite a bit of knowledge onto the subscriber and proved in different ways how the product works and how effective it is for you and can be for him. Only when you have reached this stage should you ask for the sale more directly.

If there is real interest you will make the sale and gain the most important of all, a trusting customer.

Remember, you need to trust the product yourself otherwise you will have a hard time selling it. Most of your sales will come from follow up emails and not the first visit. Take some time and work out a good email campaign that will be to the benefit of your subscriber, then launch your squeeze page and fill your bucket with sand.

Banner Advertising: News of its demise is premature

Banner Advertising: News of its demise is premature

Word Count:
1295

Summary:
Banner advertising is not dead -- and in fact it is still an effective internet marketing tool. However banner advertising has evolved -- or rather I should say successful banner advertising has evolved.

Keywords:
advertising, marketing, internet, promotion, web, email, ezine, ppc, link, banner, newsletter, blog, rss, article, ebook, forum, text link

Article Body:
You have seen them all over the internet -- blinking, flashing, animated and garish. You vow that you will not contribute to this internet graffiti. You feel smug with your decision because after all banner advertising is dead.

Wrong. Banner advertising is not dead -- and in fact it is still an effective internet marketing tool. However banner advertising has evolved -- or rather I should say successful banner advertising has evolved. Some of the horrible eye-damaging banner ads still exist but successful, knowledgable internet entrepreneurs have long abandoned those marketing efforts and instead concentrated on targeted, tasteful, and trim banner ads.

Banner ads have a bad reputation in part because of the proliferation of banner farms that killed all the banner swap programs (or at least made them completely ineffectual). Also we all have memories of those hideous banners flashing across the top of so many web sites.

Banners have come along way since then and a cleverly designed banner can be a real asset to any advertising campaign. Also don't forget that you don't have to use one of those big giant banners that span the width of the screen. You can use smaller simple ads that can fit easily into the sidebar or special box on a web site so they can suit the design and work more effectively.

It is also important that you pay close attention to what sites you will choose for displaying your banner. IE. A site about web development for your web hosting service ad or a site about parenting for your ad promoting your potty training book.

Many text link and pay per click advertising vendors also offer the option of banner ads. Similarly many ezine and newsletter publishers sell space on their sites.

And savvy internet marketers are taking them up on these advertising opportunities.

WHY USE BANNER ADVERTISING?

Consumer research historically shows that most people see an ad several times before they take action. Banners allow you to display your ad over a period of time, increasing the chances that a prospect will see your ad and remember it.

Your banner ad can be targeted to specific audiences and displayed on internet pages and sites matched to that specific audience.

People seeing your advertisement can instantly click through to your web site store to to learn more or to make a purchase on the spot.

You can track your results and make adjustments to your campaigns based on response. Analyzing your results can help you finetune your banner, landing page, or target audience to improve your response and sales.

Banner advertising is really a buyers market, as there is always more banner spaces available than advertisers need or want, which means you can find many bargains available.

IMPORTANT POINTS TO CONSIDER WHEN PLANNING YOUR BANNER AD CAMPAIGN

There are several aspects to consider when planning out your banner advertising campaign.

The first consideration should be your ad graphic itself. These are usually animated GIF images but remember you want to attract customers -- not simply attention -- and remember the overall tone of your ad campaign when designing your graphic. Also keep in mind that many sites limit the file size of the graphic to somewhere between 12 and 16 KB.

Your banner can come in variety of sizes. The full banner size is 468 x 60 pixels. Some other standard banner sizes include:

     Size(pixels).Type
     468 x 60.....Full banner
     234 x 60.....Half banner
392 x 72.....Full banner with vertical navigation bar
     120 x 240....Vertical banner
     125 x 125....Square button
     120 x 90.....Button #1
     120 x 60.....Button #2
     88 x 31......Micro button

Your graphic will be hyperlinked to a target url of your choice so you may want to spend some time planning how you will track traffic and clicks. Some programs provide a tracking and statistics service for you but most individual sites can't offer that information.

When selecting where to display your banner ad the first consideration should really be choosing a site offering information that appeals to your target audience. A high-traffic dating site isn't going to be much good for advertising your maternity clothing line, for example.

Then you should look at traffic. When looking at site stats you want to make sure you focus on page views or page impressions rather than hits (which may count individually each graphic viewed). Depending on your banner and market you may be primarily concerned with unique page impressions.

Banner advertising is often sold by CPM (Cost Per Thousand displays, the Roman numeral "M" stands for one thousand). Many sites also offer a fixed rate price for a set period of time.

Many marketers do not concern themselves as much with click-through rates and instead see banner ads as "branding" tools. They create brand awareness and a brand image in the viewer's mind. The hope is that when the viewer gets ready to make a purchase then your "brand" pops into their mind. Branding can also generate sales over the long-term. Branding is difficult to measure, but can be very powerful.

If you have a big advertising budget then you might want to consider an ad agency or media buyer. They can offer a lot of value for the dollar because they have the experience, knowledge, and contacts to make the most of your budget.

It is quite possible to be your own media buyer, if you are willing and able to handle the increased workload. The biggest difficulty is finding the right sites on which to advertise your product or service. Then after you find a site that might be a good match you need to negotiate the best possible deal. It is important you be as knowledgeable as possible as it is a buyer's market and you don't want to pay too much. Of course you also don't want to alienate a web master whose site is a perfect match for you.

You also have the option to buy banner space on many search engines and directories. Often this option allows you to display your ad only to a targeted audience which can obviously increase your chances for a successful campaign but it can be a pricey option.

Banner ad networks are another targeted option that might be more affordable. Individual web site owners contract with a single company to serve their banner ads and handle ad sales for them. In turn, these networks divide their sites into categories and subcategories to allow advertisers to advertise on particular sites within the network that are the most highly targeted. They also offer very sophisticated tracking tools that give you lots of valuable information about who is visiting your site, and what actions they are taking.

Some networks offer pay-per-click advertising which only charges you when someone clicks on your banner and comes to your site. However, this approach is subject to fraud by unscrupulous site owners.

A pay-per-sale network, otherwise known as an affiliate program, only charges the advertiser when a purchase is actually made. The advertiser pays both the affiliate and the network but only when there is a sale. Of course the competition to attract quality affiliates is high so while this can be effective it shouldn't be the only method of banner advertising you use.

And some final banner advertising tips:

    * Keep your message brief, direct and simple.
    * Attract more attention using words such as "free" and "now".
    * Put "click here" somewhere on the banner.
    * Create different versions of the banner.
    * Animate your banner but only if it improves it.
    * Keep the file size as small as possible.

Write Articles for One-way Links

Write Articles for One-way Links
Word Count:
652
Summary:
One-way links to your site might sound harder than reciprocal links but in reality they are both a lot of work but not really hard.  Consider article writing...

Keywords:
article, articles, link, campaign, search, engines, engine

Article Body:
The Internet has become a great tool or vehicle for many industries and is an option to be considered in their marketing plan.  Any person, organization, or company can have a website created and hosted for the world to see their products and/or offerings.  But having a website is not enough.  With millions of websites on the web, how will people find the website?  Word of mouth will only go so far and traditional advertising is expensive.
People find websites from search engines, but not all websites are listed.  If your site is not listed in a search engine, your site will not achieve its potential.  In the same sense if your site is listed on a search engine but is not listed in the top 20 for the selected category, your traffic will be very minimal.  On the other hand if you were to be on the first page of a search result your traffic will increase significantly and if you are in the top 3 your traffic will again multiply.
Search engines use algorithms to rank websites according to key words.  The problem is that no one knows what or how to break the algorithms to be the top site on all the major search engines.  Sure there are companies that claim they know and they will charge you a fortune for their service, but the algorithms change constantly.  So what can we do to help our rankings on the search engines?
For starters, content is still king, not only for rankings but also for keeping your visitors on your site.  Content for a website should be natural and yet optimized for the search engines.  If you focus only on optimizing your pages for the search engines will your visitors get your full message?  Remember you want your visitors to stay on your site and always return, so it has to be interesting and intriguing for your visitors, not just 50 key words plastered on a webpage.  Keep your content fresh for both the search engines and visitors.  Both will love you.
Once you have your website up and running, develop a link campaign.  A link campaign will consist of both one-way links to your site and reciprocal links with other sites.  Reciprocal links are tough.  Many sites will not reciprocate links unless you have a certain google page ranking.  Some will reciprocate a link on conditions, so be flexible.  And other will be nice and help the little guy out.  I have found a link directory community to be very helpful in a reciprocating link campaign.  You can find many by doing a search on any of the search engines.
One-way links to your site might sound harder than reciprocal links but in reality they are both a lot of work but not really hard.  Consider article writing as a vehicle or tool for one-way links.  To do this you write an article on virtually any subject you want.  Sign up for an account on an article directory and publish your article.  You may be wondering how this is going to help with my one-way link campaign.  Here it is.  All the article directories include an author resource box or bio at the end of each article.  This is the perfect place to tell the world about the author and a little bit about your site (don't forget to include a link).  Just remember not to spam your site links in the resource box as most article directories frown on.  Once your article is published in an article directory you would now have a one-way link to your site.
Here is another cool feature of the article directories.  Most of them syndicate their content (articles submitted to their directory).  This means other websites may potentially have your article along with your resource box or bio on their site as well giving you another one-way link.
Just remember to be patient.

Database Deployment: Synchronizing Database Structures

Database Deployment: Synchronizing Database Structures
Word Count:
536
Summary:
Manually synchronizing new revisions of database structures with an already running system can be a nightmare. Learn about the tools you need to easily synchronize database structures.

Keywords:
Database synchronization, sync databases, compare databases, linq to sql, sync dayabase structures

Article Body:
Developing and deploying a new database is never easy. Manually synchronizing new revisions of database structures with an already running system can become a nightmare. If your assignment includes modifications to the structure of an existing database, your options of performing the task without disrupting the workflow are limited. Read this article and learn about the tools you'll need to synchronize database structures much easier than ever before.
The Obvious Way
The simplest and most obvious way of synchronizing two databases would be by deleting the old database and creating new structures on top of it. If you back up the data before deleting the old database, and restore it from the backup after you're finished updating the structures, you might just get away with it. However, this approach is unacceptable in many environments as it disrupts the workflow and does not provide reasonable security.
The Cheap Way
Coding a set of SQL statements and running the script on the client side is a better idea, but still has many weaknesses as it consumes a developer's time on routine operations, and opens the possibility for errors. If you are upgrading a database to a new version, you'd have to apply all intermediate patches, introducing a lot more possibilities for something to go wrong.
The Easy Way
Thinking logically, one can purchase a specialized synchronization tool, install it on the developer side as well as distribute it among the customers. This does allow a certain time-saving, but the method is costly and often requires paying for client-side licenses.
The Right Way
If you don't want to code all of the updates manually, and don't want to distribute third-party software to perform updates with your application, consider implementing the necessary update functionality into your own application. The built-in functionality will handle structural updates and database upgrades directly from within your application.
Database Restyle - Library by Perpetuum Software LLC  automates the complex process of database synchronization as much as possible without the drawbacks associated with most third-party solutions. Database Restyle builds directly into your application, eliminating the need to run external applications or distribute separate solutions to your customers.
Database Restyle performs the most complex updates of database structures, allowing both fully-automated and manually-controlled operation. Database Restyle can be used in a wide variety of cases. It can sync the two databases, but it is not limited to just that. Database Restyle works with other entities beside databases, such as business objects, and supports the Linq To Sql model.
An intuitive visual environment allows Database Restyle to take snapshots of database structures, as well as analyze, compare and synchronize databases. Titles

The title is the most important part of the article. It needs to contain the meta keyword phrase, but also tell the user what they will read about. Generic titles fail in several ways. First, they do not attract readers. Second, they are overlooked by search engine robots. Third, they do not increase the page's rank. Fourth, they rarely match the meta information.

Cute titles may catch the reader's attention, but they do not attract search engines who look for the < title > code and uses the information to categorize the content and retrieve it when a visitor does a search.

X-plosive Method to Xpand Sales

The above title has several problems. The cute title may be eye catching, but it is difficult to read. Also, it means nothing to search engines who will categorize the article using the words 'method' and 'sales.'

The above example does not really tell readers what they will learn, or how to solve their problems. This forces people to read the article to find out what it is about, very few people do this, most click away.

A better title might be: Five Strategies to Increase Sales

This uses words 'real' people may use to learn how to increase their sales. The search engine will now use the words 'five,' 'strategies,' 'increase,' 'sales.'

Meta Information

All content management systems have a section on every page for meta tag information. This usually includes a description, short description, keywords, and copyright. Many CMS managers use the first, introduction - summary - paragraph as the description. The one line description is a keyword heavy explanation of the article, including any problems it may solve for the reader.

Look at the two article examples given above. It will be difficult to convince search engines that the article is about more than 'method' and 'sales.' However, duplicating the four keywords in the title in all three sections of the meta content (as well as the article content) will tell the search engines that the article really does discuss Five Strategies to Increase Sales.

Headings

The #1 overlooked SEO tool is heading titles. Most webmasters do not understand how important a heading title is. First, search engines consider them more important than meta information. An article that discusses Five Strategies to Increase Sales, with four heading titles: Strategy #1 - Sales Communication Basics; Strategy #2 - Increase Exposure; Strategy #3 - Five Step System to Sales Success; Strategy #5 - Increase Profits through Sale's Aids.

This article now has six titles, each given importance based on their HTML code: , , , , etc.

In many cases inexperienced webmasters will not use heading titles because they do not like the size difference. Size does not matter. Search engines do not care about font size. Change the font size to match the rest of the article, just leave the heading title there.

Heading titles also break up the article making it 'skimmable.' It is common knowledge among SEO experts that articles which can be easily skimmed keep people on the page a little longer, and keep the page's visitor reading down the page - increasing the chances of attracting them and making a sale.

For E-Biz owners, importing can be the key to lower product sourcing overhead and a diversified product line-up. One of the best ways to get started in importing is to attend an international tradeshow, where you'll meet countless manufacturers and wholesalers of foreign goods. Much like the tradeshow industry here, any reputable show will qualify their exhibitors, so you can feel confident you're only dealing with legitimate, authentic suppliers.

What to Know Before You Go

According to Peter Zapf, of , you should familiarize yourself with a fair's suppliers, in advance. Advises Zapf, "A little preparation will help you get the most out of attending a show." With so many exhibitors, it's good to know which products and suppliers you want to target. Check out the exhibitors on the tradeshow's web site, and research the companies that interest you. If the info you want isn't on their site, email them your questions about their products, pricing, etc.

Your next step to prepare is researching your product market to determine how much you can spend on landing costs and still make a profit. Your landing costs equal the price of the product itself, plus the cost of transporting it to your location. A customs broker or freight forwarder can give you a fair idea of the cost of shipping your goods from the most likely foreign port to your warehouse. Once you know your logistical costs, you can back those out of your landing cost to see how much you'll have left to spend on the actual goods.

What to Ask When You Arrive

Trade fairs are your chance to speak with potential product sources face-to-face. You want to gather as much information as possible, so you can choose the suppliers that best fit your E-Biz needs. Have your questions ready, so you don't forget to ask anything critical when you're there:

•What are their order minimums? Some suppliers will work with new importers in small volumes; others are less flexible.

•How much lead time do they require? When you're sourcing products from overseas, you should expect to give at least 60 to 90 days lead time. You need to keep this in mind when placing orders, especially holiday orders.

•What are their payment terms? Most suppliers want 30% up front and the remaining 70% when the goods ship. However, refunds and returns are difficult, so start with a small order and increase the volume as you build confidence in a supplier.

•What are their delivery terms? There are many different delivery terms available; these simply state which logistical costs and arrangements you'll be responsible for, and which your supplier will handle. In most cases, you'll be buying "Freight on Board," which means your supplier must deliver your goods, cleared for export, alongside the vessel at the named port of exit; from there, you're responsible for bringing them stateside, clearing them through Customs, and arranging inland shipping to your warehouse.

•Will they ship products to you packed in bulk, or individually? If they're bulk packed, you're going to have to re-package them yourself, which adds to your time and back end expenses.

Attending an overseas tradeshow isn't nearly as costly or difficult as most E-Biz owners assume, and the benefits are far-reaching. Enthuses Zapf, "We're seeing more and more e-tailers and eBayers at these fairs, and it's just fantastic. I think we'll see this trend continue to grow as online sellers discover what a great sourcing opportunity tradeshows are and tap into that."

Article Body:
A lot of successful websites depend on returning visitors to account for a major part of their traffic. Returning visitors are easier to convert into paying customers because the more often they return to a site, the more trust they have in that site. The credibility issue just melts away. Hence, keep your visitors coming back to your site with the following methods:

1) Start a forum, chatroom or shoutbox

When you start a forum, chatroom or shoutbox, you are providing your visitors a place to voice their opinions and interact with their peers -- all of them are visitors of your site. As conversations build up, a sense of community will also follow and your visitors will come back to your site almost religiously every day.

2) Start a web log (blog)

Keep an online journal, or more commonly known as a blog, on your site and keep it updated with latest news about yourself. Human beings are curious creatures and they will keep their eyes glued to the monitor if you post fresh news frequently. You will also build up your credibility as you are proving to them that there is also a real life person behind the website.

3) Carry out polls or surveys

Polls and surveys are other forms of interaction that you should definitely consider adding to your site. They provide a quick way for visitors to voice their opinions and to get involved in your website. Be sure to publish polls or surveys that are strongly relevant to the target market of your website to keep them interested to find out about the results.

4) Hold puzzles, quizzes and games

Just imagine how many office workers procrastinate at work every day, and you will be able to gauge how many people will keep visiting your site if you provide a very interesting or addicting way of entertainment. You can also hold competitions to award the high score winner to keep people trying continuously to earn the prize.

5) Update frequently with fresh content

Update your site frequently with fresh content so that every time your visitors come back, they will have something to read on your site. This is the most widely known and most effective method of attracting returning visitors, but this is also the least carried out one because of the laziness of webmasters. No one will want to browse a site that looks the same over ten years, so keep your site updated with fresh bites!
